Milky Way Photography On The Cornish Coast by Aaron Cherrie
I’m Aaron Cherrie, an Astrophotographer based in Cornwall, UK, dedicated to documenting the night sky over one of the most dramatic coastlines in the UK.
My work centers on Milky Way nightscapes, Moonscapes, and carefully planned celestial alignments that showcase Cornwall’s rugged landscapes in a new light.
Milky Way Photography Cornwall West Penwith by Aaron Cherrie
Growing up surrounded by the region’s wild moors, Ancient sites, and clear coastal horizons, I developed a deep connection to Cornwall’s dark‑sky environments.
Today, I spend my nights capturing everything from the galactic core rising over sea stacks to moonrises behind iconic landmarks like St Michael’s Mount.
My approach blends technical precision with creative storytelling, using long‑exposure techniques to reveal details invisible to the naked eye.

In 2025, my work was featured in CNN’s Call to Earth, a documentary exploring the global loss of natural darkness. The feature highlighted the importance of Cornwall’s protected dark‑sky areas and the role astrophotography plays in raising awareness of light pollution.
Whether I’m photographing meteor showers sweeping across Bodmin Moor or teaching others how to plan Milky Way compositions, my goal is always the same — to celebrate Cornwall’s night skies and preserve their beauty for future generations.
